Prawn with tamarind

Your dish will sing with tamarind!

Ingredients   Servings: 2 people

Prawns10 pieces
Tamarind paste15g (1 sachet)
Fish sauce1 tbsp
Shallot½ piece
Garlic 1 clove
Coriander 1 bunch


1. Cook garlic with shallots

Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a sauce pan.
Stir-fry minced garlic and sliced shallot for about 2 minutes until soft.

2.Stir-fry the prawns

Add the prawns (headless, cleaned and deveined). Stir-fry until the prawns turn pink colour.

3. Stir in the tamarind paste

Add 1 sachet of tamarind paste and 6 tbsp water. Season with 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp fish sauce. Bring to the boil then lower the heat and simmer for a while.

4. Plate your dish

Add pepper and garnish with coriander.
Serve with steamed white rice.
